Hi Dance Team Families,

 

Hope this email finds everyone safe and well.

 

As you are aware the WIAA has published updates to the fall sports seasons.  While dance is not sanctioned by the WIAA, we follow WACPC (Wisconsin Association Cheer and Pom Coaches) guidance, a large part of the mission of our team is the support of other fall sports and taking on the role of spirit leaders for the school/community.  Therefore these changes will impact our typical season schedule.  While it is unfortunate we will not be under the Friday night lights this fall cheering at Papermaker Stadium, we look forward to hopefully having the opportunity in the spring when football will resume. 

 

Attached to this email you will find an updated season schedule.  The changes have been outlined below.  Typically we would publish our entire season schedule and follow that throughout the year but given the unique circumstances with this season we are doing our best to provide a schedule with the information at hand and update as necessary.  The coaching staff is doing our best to provide as much normalcy as possible to our student athletes during these times and to do so as safe as possible with procedures put in place to ensure proper social distancing, mask wearing, screening questions prior to practice, availability of sanitizers, etc.  The safety of our athletes, coaches and dance families is our number one priority. 

 

Important Information:

• Schedule Updates

  • JV Team

    • Typically our JV team would wrap their season in the winter with our holiday party in December.  However, with the move of the football season, we will keeping our Fall Performance Team running through the entire season and wrap up in spring following football.

    • We have extended the Fall Performance Team practices in September to go from 5-8pm on Thursdays as they have in previous months.

  • Varsity Team

    • Jazz competition choreography with Shannon has been added on September 18 and 19. 

    • We are still waiting on our state and national associations to publish competition dates.  As soon as those are made available to us an updated schedule will be shared to reflect those dates. 

• Varsity and JV Contact Lists- no changes since the August update, lists can be found on our website www.kimberlydanceteam.com  (Parent/Athlete page, password- kdance2020, please do not share this password outside of the team)

 

Reminders / Updates:

• This final team payment is due Tuesday, September 29 (Thursday, October 1 for JV team members)- Checks should be made out to Kimberly Dance Team and amounts are as follows- new JV member $75, new Varsity member $200, returning Varsity member $125.

• Be on the lookout for an opportunity to purchase Kimberly Dance Team fan gear- more details coming soon!
